Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Raleigh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We went here for lunch. We did the omakase classic, which runs about $90/person. The decor and atmosphere were that of a higher end restaurant, very clean with spacious seating. The vibe was that of a western establishment serving asian food (e.g. no house tea, snap apart chopsticks, Korean food on the menu). Initially service was slow as several diners came at once. The server was very sweet and attentive. All in all it took about 2 hrs to complete the meal. The food was good. We started with the chopped seasoned fish on seaweed cracker as an extra appy. The omakase itself was more like a kaiseki. The sashimi was above average but my hamachi had a piece of tendon that could not be chewed and I spat it out. The nigiri was better quality. We appreciated the toro and the plastic wrap around the seaweed for the taco to keep it crispy until we were ready to eat it. I felt the scallops were kind of fishy tasting. I had the creme brulee for dessert. It was a little sweet but the creme was quite good. All in all we felt very full afterwards and enjoyed the meal. I think a few non costly enhancements like complimentary house tea would have made the experience more complete.

I was visiting a friend and we happened to be nearby. I'm SO glad we stopped in! The young man that served us was attentive and helpful (and that's high praise coming from me because I work in the service industry) and the sushi was top tier. 10/10 I would recommend to anyone in the area, and I'll be back next time I'm in Raleigh β¨οΈ

My wife and I decided to go to this restaurant before a Dave Matthew's concert and I am glad we did. We were greeted right away with smiles and respect. They sat us closest to the Head Chef and Sue Shef. Both of which speak English pretty well. We ordered our delicious flavorful Sushi and Nigiri. We were enjoying ourselves so much the chef let us try some of his new creations not yet on the menu. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Can't wait to go back.

We had the best time here! We came to celebrate out engagement and they rolled out the red carpet for us. Our server was so nice and knowledgeable! The food was 10 out of 10. The host was very kind and sweet. Everything was just perfect! Thank you very much Omakase by Kai!!!

We love this place so much. Everytime we stop in my husband and I are instantly transported back to our time living in Japan with the high quality of fish that is offered here. Do not skimp on the scallop crudo or sashimi. We have also enjoyed their highest tier omakase and it was 100/10 amazing. Was enough food that I was able to share with my husband with an extra roll ordered on the side which honestly we struggled to finish because it was all so much food. This place is worth the hour and a half drive for us to get here. The staff is also amazing, so kind. We often get served extra food than whats ordered. There is nothing not to love.
